Spring Clean up April 14-25th, 2014

City Residents who live on the east side of Main Street can put one load out on any day April 14th - April 18th.

City Residents who live on the west side of Main Street can put one load out on any day April 21st - April 25th.

There is a limit to 1 truck load per household. Items that cannot be accepted are: tires, batteries, paint, or other hazardous materials.

Hoops for David Sayers

City of Somerset/First Baptist Church Science Hill recently hosted "Hoops for David Sayers" - David is currently battling an illness (Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome) in UK Hospital. David is a well known IT professional who currently works for the City of Somerset, but has many connections in Somerset and Science Hill. The event raised $6,000. David is still in UK but getting better everyday. He will welcome his 2nd child on Monday March 10, 2014.

Somerset Goes Green ...Recycle Somerset

Somerset has officially gone "green" with its curbside recycling program. 36-gallon recycling containers are currently being delivered around the City of Somerset. Residents can place the following items in their recycling bins:

*Plastic bottles*Aluminum and tin cans*Cardboard boxes*Newspapers*White and color paper*Magazines and junk mail*Envelopes*Coated paper*Brochures and pamphlets

Pick-up will be on your regular scheduled garbage day.

SomerSplash Waterpark

Season passes can now be purchased online at and proceed to Waterpark link.

Season passes can be purchased at City Hall starting Wednesday November 13, 2013.

Hold on to your 2013 season pass. A $20 credit will be given toward the purchase of your 2014 season pass. To redeem your credit, bring in your 2013 pass when purchasing next year's pass. The 2014 pass must be issued in the same name as the 2013 pass.

City and School property taxes are now due and payable. Base amount due by December 31, 2013.

Somernites Cruise

Celebrating 13 years. The Ultimate Cool Car Cruise in the Heartland. Downtown Somerset, KY is home to Somernites Cruise with is held on the 4th Saturday of each month-April through October, rain or shine.

The "Show and Shine" portion of the events starts at 1 p.m. "Cruising the Strip" begins at 7 p.m. and continues through the evening.
