SomerSport Park is heading into a new era as a large renovation project looms on the horizon. The former golf driving range has been closed and is being converted into a state of the art soccer complex. Preliminary work has begun on this, and top soil has been moved onto this site. When completed, this renovated area of SomerSport will have 4 new soccer fields and a new area for a stage with a removable half dome to hold concerts (MMF) and other events. Below are some photos of where the new soccer fields are going to be located. Update on March 22, 2004 Hinkle Contracting of Paris, Kentucky began hauling rock and earth into the former driving range thus beginning the transformation of SomerSport.
