Before you begin your project, you will need an approved permit from the City of Somerset. To apply for a permit, you simply need to visit the Planning Department, located in The City Utility Building at 105 College Street. Please call 606-678-4466 ext. 347 to make an appointment to see the Building Inspector.

During your appointment the Inspector will review your plans for all applicable Zoning and Building Code regulations. After reviewing the plans and speaking with the applicant the Building Inspector shall either approve or disapprove the application. At this time a building permit shall be issued, or explanations and suggestions will be given to the applicant as to what is needed to obtain an approval.
