A proposal for amendment to the Official Zoning Map may originate with the planning commission, the City Council, and other government body, the owner of the subject property, or by having a written authorization from the owner of the subject property.

Regardless of the origin of the proposed amendment, an application must be filed with the planning commission requesting the proposed amendment.

 

At the time of filing an application the following items will be required.

1.    Copy of Deed of subject property

2.    Copy of Platt of subject property

3.    Names and addresses of all adjoining property owners (right, left, behind and across the street)

4.    Stamped envelopes for item #3

5.    Check payable to City of Somerset in the amount of $402.00

 

In order to have a zone change request on the planning and zoning agenda, the application will need to be filed at least three (3) weeks prior to the meeting date.
