Fire suppression

Fire Suppression is the area of Firefighting that most people think of when they discuss Fire Department Operations.

Fire Suppression is only the basis of the job.

At the Somerset Fire Department, Firefighters are required to be completely trained in fire suppression before being employed by the City of Somerset.

In order to achieve this, Firefighters are required to be 400 Hour Kentucky Certified Firefighters as required by the Kentucky State Fire Commission.
