Joe Lyons
City of Somerset Building Inspector Joe Lyons was recently nominated to the Code Administrators Association of Kentucky board of directors.
Lyons has been a member of CAAK since 2010 and expressed interest in serving the members of the association. As a board member, Lyons will serve on various code committees such as education, code change, legislative and public relations. As a member of CAAK, code officials receive continuing education related to codes currently adopted by the Department of Housing, Buildings and Construction.
Since 1973, CAAK has worked to ensure consistent and professional building code enforcement in all areas of the state. Membership includes more than 650 building inspectors, fire officials, contractors, engineers, architects, and others in related fields. CAAK is a Chapter of the International Code Council (ICC) and is headquartered in Lexington. CAAK’s strategic mission is to advance the professionalism of code users by expanding CAAK’s membership base and loyalty, and by asserting the influence of the organization upon the adoption, use and efficient and effective enforcement of model codes.
