Sign up or transfer service checklist

What do I need to bring?

When you visit Somerset Utilities — 306 E. Mt. Vernon St. in downtown Somerset — to sign up for new service or to transfer service, you must bring the following items:

  1. Service address, including apartment/unit number
  2. Mailing address (where you want to receive your bill)
  3. A copy of your lease (if applicable)
  4. Driver’s license
  5. Phone number
  6. E-mail address
  7. Connection fees ($30 per water and gas meter for residential service, $100 per water and gas meter for commercial/business service. THESE FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE AND NON-TRANSFERABLE.)

Landlord service agreement

Property owners who want to have a landlord file with Somerset Utilities must read and agree to the contract for a landlord service agreement. By signing, the landlord agrees to the terms stated therein. 

The property owner may then return this agreement either via email to [email protected] or to our office located at 306 E. Mt. Vernon St., Somerset, KY 42501. 

Please list all property addresses the owner wishes to have added to this agreement.

Parking Tickets

Parking tickets may be paid in the Office of the City Clerk at 306 E. Mt. Vernon St. or mailed in the original citation envelope. Checks should be made payable to “City of Somerset.” Failure to comply with the citations within seven (7) days will result in the fine being doubled. Failure to pay within 30 days will result in a citation to Pulaski District Court. If convicted in District Court there will be an additional court cost of up to or more than $100. The registered owner of a vehicle at the time of the violation shall be liable for all fines. Fees subject to change without notice.
